Job Summary
Patrol hospital campuses, check property, conduct room searches, and maintain order while responding to medical emergencies, fire drills, and evacuations. Issue traffic citations, apprehend suspects, collect evidence, and provide security escorts. Perform general law enforcement duties including driving division heads and visitors as requested. Maintain firearm proficiency and attend periodic training sessions. Work full-time, part-time, or weekend shifts with on-call availability. Complete contractual requirements to receive hiring bonuses and annual rewards.
Required Qualifications
- Currently sworn, non retired Police Officer
- At least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Police ID
- VPEC
- Firearm certification
- North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement certification
- Able to work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
- Able to occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
- Able to climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
- Able to stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
- Attend required periodic training sessions and seminars
- Maintain required level of proficiency in the use of firearms
