Job Summary
Pre-package medication into unit dose containers, mix pharmaceutical preparations, and prepare I.V. admixture formulations using aseptic technique. Deliver medications to nursing stations, restock automated dispensing cabinets, and assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication. Receive and store incoming supplies, check inventories for outdated items, and maintain records of dispensed medications while entering data into computer systems. Train and supervise new technicians in all phases of pharmacy operation, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Requires PTCB or NHA certification, one year of relevant experience, and proficiency in pharmaceutical computer applications. Schedule includes Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with every third weekend rotation and holiday rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician through either PTCB or NHA
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician - Tennessee
- 1 year Relevant Work Experience
- Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
- Pharmaceutical Computer Literacy (Novice)
- Pharmaceutical Drug Preparation, Dispensing & Distribution (Intermediate)
- Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance & Compliance (Intermediate)
- Drug Inventory & Records Management (Intermediate)
- Training & Development (Fundamental Awareness)
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Holiday rotation availability
