Job Summary
Certified Pharmacy Technician needed to support pharmacists in inpatient pediatric pharmacy operations at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Responsibilities include assisting with the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications to inpatient units, stocking and managing automated dispensing cabinets, sterile and non-sterile compounding (training provided), assisting with STAT and batch medication preparation, managing inventory, and delivering excellent customer service to care teams. Role emphasizes safe medication distribution, use of pharmacy computer systems, and opportunities for advancement (e.g., lead tech, automation tech, medication safety tech, sterile compounding specialist). Training provided; hospital setting with daytime and evening shifts; 6:00am–2:30pm or 2:00pm–10:30pm. Certifications in good standing and TN licensure required; minimal prior experience permitted.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician - CPhT via PTCB or NHA
- TN Pharmacy Technician License
- Less than 1 year of experience
- Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
