Job Summary
Assist the pharmacist with medication selection, procurement, storage, preparation, distribution, record keeping, and financial reconciliation while adhering to ICARE and AIDET principles. Process Epic messages, fill medication bins, restock Pyxis stations, and distribute controlled substances and time-sensitive medications. Ensure regulatory compliance on nursing units, participate in process improvement and infection control programs, and perform monthly inventory cycle counts. Begin sterile compounding training for direct infusion and prepare oral syringe medications for NICU patients. Check expiration dates for stock rotation and process returns correctly. Maintain departmental inventory management goals and attend educational services.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent GED
- Registered with State Board where Practicing
- Nationally Certified (PTCB or NHA)
- active Intern license
- Typing / Computer Keyboarding
- Previous experience as Hospital Pharmacy Technician
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with MS Office
- Understanding of Metric System and Pharmacy Calculations
- IV Admixture Experience
