Job Summary
Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by greeting shoppers, answering phones, and handling inquiries that do not require pharmacist expertise. Accept written and telephoned prescription orders, gather patient information, and assist pharmacists in preparing, labeling, and mailing prescription drug products. Process insurance claims, file dispensed prescriptions, order and stock supplies, and perform cash transactions while maintaining strict adherence to department guidelines. Administer vaccines as allowed by law and report any medication errors to appropriate personnel. Maintain cleanliness of the pharmacy area and ensure confidentiality of customer medical information in compliance with HIPAA.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed, through a national certification program, as a pharmacy technician
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to physically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
- Vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction
- Depth perception
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)

- Must acknowledge that exposure to hazardous drugs may cause acute and chronic effects
- Must complete a pre employment drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk
