Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician - Certified assists pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications, provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, escorts customers to products, handles prescription orders and insurance claims, prepares and labels prescriptions, prepares prescriptions to be mailed, maintains patient information, and adheres to HIPAA. The role requires knowledge of pharmacy software, ability to work in a fast retail store setting, and compliance with USP 800 hazardous-drug safety as applicable. Must meet education and licensure requirements and be able to perform physical tasks as described; prior experience as a pharmacy technician or clerk is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified as a licensed technician through a certified national program and maintains continuing education requirements to keep license active
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk is preferred
- Vaccination certification as required by law (if applicable)
