Job Summary
Conduct personalized training sessions using athletically functional activities tailored to individual goals and needs. Manage potential health risks or exercise barriers upon client evaluation while maintaining a sanitized, safe work environment. Handle clerical functions including chart filing, copying, and faxing, and accurately complete new patient registration processes. Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and directors via phone, email, and text, reporting incidents and equipment malfunctions to the director. Maintain nationally recognized certification and complete required continuing education units. Perform work outside normal business hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as staffing needs and client volumes dictate flexible scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- A certification in the Personal Training field
- Must complete required continuing education units
- Must have the physical strength to perform the following lifting tasks: Floor to waist - 50 pounds, 14" to waist - 50 pounds, Waist to shoulder - 35 pounds, Shoulder to overhead - 20 pounds, Carry 45 pounds for 30 feet, Push 50 pounds/force for 30 feet, Pull 50 pounds/force for 30 feet
- Emotional stability conducive to dealing with moderately stressful situations
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with department clients, hospital and department staff
- Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, keyboard and mouse
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Must be able to work no less than 30 but no more than 40 hours a week
- Must be able to work 60-80 ppd
- Must be able to work outside of normal business day
- Must be able to work flexible schedules
- Must be able to adapt positively to frequent changes and interruptions in workload &/ or work schedules
- Must be able to manage time effectively based on client volumes
- Must be able to check and respond to phone calls, emails, and text meetings on a daily basis
- Must be able to complete all competency/skills assessments and training as required
- Must be able to comply with department policies and procedures
- Must be able to use time efficiently and productively
- Must be able to complete required cleaning records
- Must be able to accurately complete processes for new patients, including accurate registration information
- Must be able to recognize any potential health risks or barriers to exercise upon evaluation and manage them appropriately
- Must be able to provide personalized training in accordance with individuals needs goals
- Must be able to maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field
- Must be able to perform designated tasks related to the operation of Elite Sport and Fitness
- Must be able to receive & convey messages appropriately and in a timely manner
- Must be able to provide courteous, cooperative services to patients, visitors & staff
- Must be able to demonstrate good communications skills
- Must be able to report to the dept. director all incidents, equipment malfunctions, and program related issues
- Must be able to assist in performing various clerical functions, such as filing charts, making copies, faxing, etc.
- Must be able to maintain an orderly, sanitized, and safe work environment
- Must be able to complete other duties as assigned
- Must be able to comply with the organizational attendance policy and use of the electronic timekeeping system
- Must be able to adhere to dress code
- Must be able to work within specified time frames
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors in science
- Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification
