Job Summary
Provide individual and group peer support to assist members with treatment participation and achievement of treatment-plan goals. Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation of all support and counseling services provided. Connect members with appropriate community resources and referrals while facilitating groups, community integration activities, and individual support services as part of the psychosocial rehabilitation program. Educate members about mental health, medication awareness, relapse prevention, and recovery strategies. Provide crisis intervention and support when needed using agency-approved techniques. Transport members to and from groups and community outings as needed. Collaborate effectively with peers and other professionals to ensure comprehensive, high-quality care.
Required Qualifications
- NC Certified Peer Support Specialist certification
- At least 1–2 years of experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges
- Minimum of 2 consecutive years of personal recovery
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Current auto insurance
- Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of the 12 Core Functions
- Ability to read, write, and complete clear and accurate documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and credentialing requirements
