Job Summary

Conduct mobile crisis response services and provide on-call support alongside qualified mental health professionals. Perform telephone and face-to-face assessments for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises while building supportive, recovery-oriented relationships. Assist clients in identifying strengths, setting goals, and developing coping strategies for managing mental health and substance use challenges. Deliver person-centered services that align with individual preferences within a trauma-informed environment. Complete accurate documentation and attend required meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions. Work weekday overnight shifts across various crisis service programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a Certified Missouri Peer Specialist
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Self-identify as a present or former recipient of mental health or substance use services, or as a person in recovery from a mental health or substance use disorder
  • Knowledge of recovery principles, peer support practices, and person-centered care
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing behavioral health crises
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and respect for diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license with a favorable driving record
  • Must successfully pass a background check or qualify for an approved exception if applicable
  • Must complete the Missouri Peer Specialist application process through Missouri Peer Specialist Program
  • If required, must attain completion of the five-day basic training program and pass a State of Missouri-approved certification examination within three (3) months
  • Ability to work overnight weekday shifts and respond to mobile crisis situations
  • Commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and consumer-focused services
