Job Summary
The Peer Recovery Coach I engages and facilitates meaningful conversations with individuals to support their recovery goals while providing consultations to promote Telecare’s Recovery Culture. Key responsibilities include responding to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills. Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED, Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification, and relevant experience in behavioral health or mental health settings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA
- One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges
- Two (2) years’ full-time experience, or part-time equivalent, working in a mental health program serving persons with severe and persistent mental disabilities, or a bachelor's degree with a major in psychology, social work or behavioral sciences
- Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver
- Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care
- Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training
