Job Summary
Certified Peer Recovery Advocate uses lived experience with recovery to engage residents in transitional housing, providing individual support rooted in recovery principles, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction. Helps residents develop recovery and wellness plans, set goals, identify barriers, model self-care, and connect with treatment, medical care, mental health services, legal assistance, employment, and educational opportunities. Collaborates with clinicians and external partners for coordinated care, conducts outreach to residents, maintains accurate documentation, attends supervision and ongoing training to maintain CRPA certification, and assists residents in locating and applying for permanent housing (including supportive/public housing and affordable housing lotteries). Schedule is Monday–Friday, 9:00AM–5:00PM; location is Bronx, NY. Qualifications include being a Certified Peer Specialist or eligible for CRPA training, experience in drug treatment environments and risks related to opiate or stimulant use disorder, strong engagement skills, and flexibility in schedule.
