Job Summary
Provide routine patient care on the Neuro PCU to promote patient comfort and support the overall care plan. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining mobility and nutrition, collecting vital signs and I/O, documenting in the medical record, transporting specimens, communicating status changes to licensed professionals, supporting unit operations, and performing delegated procedures under supervision. Requires a CNA/LNA license, BLS certification, and strong organizational/communication skills; 1 year of medical clerical or hospital/physician office experience and familiarity with electronic medical records are preferred. Night shift of three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends/holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- Current BLS certification
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in state of practice is required for new hires and transfers
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card may be required for certain Banner Health sites
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy
- ECG interpretation course or EEG interpretation course (or on-the-job training) may be required
Additional Requirements
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card requirements for specific facilities
- Arizona Criminal History Affidavit may be required at hire
- Some sites require CNA licensure (LNA preferred in AZ)
- New hires may need to meet unit-specific credentialing
