Certified Outpatient Coder

Outpatient coding role focused on reviewing inpatient records and assigning accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for outpatient encounters. Responsibilities include coding within 3 days of discharge, maintaining high coding accuracy (target 98%), abstracting and maintaining complete coding records, querying providers for clarification, collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, Case Management, and Business Office, and supporting audits and process improvements. Requires knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, EMR systems (e.g., 3M, Meditech), and strong attention to detail with time management skills. On-site position in Hopedale, IL. Training and education contributions to staff and providers are also expected.
