Certified Orthotist Prosthetist

Job Summary
Review medical records, examine patients, and formulate prescriptions for orthotic and prosthetic needs in collaboration with physicians. Supervise the fabrication of devices, evaluate fit and function, and instruct patients on device maintenance and proper use. Consult with physicians, nurses, and physical therapists regarding patient needs, conduct clinics for local organizations, and oversee orthotic fitters and technicians. Perform on-call duties as assigned and maintain accurate patient charges by posting materials and costs to records. Work in homes, clinics, or acute hospital settings while driving to service areas.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Orthotist Prosthetist by ABC or BOCO
- Board eligible from bachelor or master's program
- Eligible to be credentialed and hold privileges with all local hospitals
- Experience in Microsoft Office and Windows based computer applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Normal or correctible range of hearing and eyesight
- Manual dexterity required to operate orthotic construction equipment
- Possess current unrestricted driver's license
- Available automobile
- Ability to perform multiple and adverse tasks simultaneously
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Frequent bending, stooping and lifting and reaching required
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Orthotist Prosthetist by ABC or BOCO may also be board eligible from bachelor or master's program
