Job Summary
Jail Officer responsible for maintaining safety and security of the regional jail facility, including custody of inmates, supervising daily activity, performing security checks, enforcing rules, preparing logs and reports, and responding to emergencies. Requires ability to walk, run, climb stairs, and work 12-hour rotating shifts; provides benefits and paid training; enhances career with academy completion; 18+ with HS diploma/GED and background check; enhanced salaries for those holding VA Jail Officer Certification; sign-on bonus up to $4,000.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma from an accredited high school or GED
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Basic basic computer skills are required
- DMV transcript and criminal background checks must be acceptable
- Must complete the Basic Jailor Academy Training within 1 year of employment
