Certified Ophthalmic Technician Educator

Job Summary
Educates and coordinates ophthalmic technician education across clinics, coordinates orientation and annual competencies, and develops unit-based educational programs. Serves as a resource for on-unit education of new equipment, policies, and procedures; mentors staff; facilitates in-services; leads education initiatives through posters, workshops, computer-based programs, articles, and videos; collaborates with clinical unit management to identify educational needs and plans for clinical practice; and supports overall unit growth while performing the duties of an ophthalmic assistant in a clinical environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years related work experience
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) through JCAHPO (Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) - Required
- Basic Life Support Certification
