Job Summary
Provide pre-exam patient intake and assist ophthalmologist with basic to advanced eye tests; perform room prep and sanitation; assist in in-office procedures; administer medications; scribe in electronic records; perform diagnostic testing and schedule appointments; requires knowledge of tonometry, refraction, keratometry, retinoscopy, and basic contact lens knowledge; must obtain COA/COT/COMT within 1 year of employment; BLS certification; 1-2 years ophthalmology experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience working with ophthalmologist
- BLS certification
- Uncertified Ophthalmic Assistants must obtain JCAHPO certification within 1 year of employment
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
