Job Summary
Receives training to perform clerical functions, basic patient care, ophthalmic testing procedures, and initial patient examinations as directed by physician or supervisor. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examination, performing routine screening tests, documenting patient information, and maintaining exam rooms and equipment. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work both independently and under supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of one year experience in an ophthalmic setting providing direct patient care
- Knowledge of medical terminology
