Job Summary
Carry out occupational therapy treatment procedures, instruct registrants in self-help methods, and assist in constructing orthotic devices as designated by the Registered Occupational Therapist. Assist in ongoing evaluation of rehabilitation progress, report observations on treatment response, and prepare required reports. Record and sign progress notes, document attendance, and manage inventory of supplies and equipment. Screen assigned caseloads, complete home visits as needed, and participate in registrant care conferences and inservice training. Perform other related duties as required by the manager. Full-time days shift from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, with Saturday hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Required Qualifications
- A graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- holding current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant with that organization
- certified by and currently registered with the New York State Education Department
- Must possess good moral character
- patience and compassion for the elderly
Desired Qualifications
- A formal or informal experience in a geriatric setting
