Job Summary
Carry out occupational therapy treatment procedures, instruct registrants in self-help methods, and assist in constructing orthotic and assistive devices under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist. Assist in ongoing evaluation of rehabilitation progress, record progress notes, and report treatment responses. Prepare purchase orders, maintain inventory, and document attendance while participating in care conferences and inservice training. Screen assigned caseloads, complete home visits as needed, and supervise support staff. Perform other related duties as required by the manager. The program operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p. m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p. m. with a 7½-hour shift.
Required Qualifications
- A graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association", "holding current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant with that organization", "certified by and currently registered with the New York State Education Department", "Must possess good moral character", "patience", "compassion for the elderly
