Job Summary
Conduct occupational therapy services for residents by administering treatments, selecting activities based on medical history, and instructing them in adaptive equipment use. Assist the Occupational Therapist in planning care, evaluating daily living skills, and participating in care conferences and discharge planning. Facilitate telehealth services to ensure evaluations, progress notes, and discharges are completed timely while maintaining accurate documentation and billing. Transport residents, prepare equipment, and promote participation in group activities while adhering to infection control and safety protocols. Address goals in the Plan of Care weekly and recommend treatment modifications as indicated.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited program conferring the title of Occupational Therapist Assistant
- current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in Ohio
- ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- knowledgeable of occupational therapy procedures
- leadership and supervisory ability
- willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
- ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the occupational therapy service
- ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
- ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 45 pounds lifting, periodically and or as needed
