Job Summary
Conduct occupational therapy services for residents by evaluating daily living skills, administering treatments, and adapting equipment to promote participation in individual and group activities. Assist the Occupational Therapist in planning care conferences, discharge planning, and resident assessments while maintaining accurate documentation and billing for all services rendered. Facilitate telehealth evaluations and instruct residents and families on adaptive equipment use and home programs. Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols, including universal precautions and proper lifting techniques for residents and equipment. Report medical changes, resident grievances, or hazardous conditions to supervisors immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited program conferring the title of Occupational Therapist Assistant
- current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in Ohio
- ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- knowledgeable of occupational therapy procedures
- leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
- ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the occupational therapy service
- ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
- ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 45 pounds lifting, periodically and or as needed
