Job Summary
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist in a school setting. Responsibilities include implementing prescribed interventions, collaborating with teachers, improving fine motor skills and sensory processing, collecting progress data, contributing to IEP meetings, developing materials and strategies, and traveling between school sites. Requires an Associate’s degree, NBCOT certification as a COTA, and state licensure if applicable. Part-time role based in Topeka, KS with travel between district sites. Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential. Lift up to 50 lbs and ability to travel between school sites are required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) as a COTA
- Licensed by the state (if applicable)
