Job Summary

Conduct daily occupational therapy services for residents by evaluating living skills, administering treatments, and instructing families on adaptive equipment. Assist the Occupational Therapist in planning care, scheduling sessions, and ensuring accurate documentation and billing for all services rendered. Facilitate telehealth evaluations and participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and resident assessments as needed. Maintain departmental safety standards, infection control protocols, and equipment inventory while adhering to all facility policies and HIPAA requirements. Work intermittently throughout the day, lifting residents up to 45 pounds, and report any hazardous conditions or medical concerns to supervisors.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited program conferring the title of Occupational Therapist Assistant
  • current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in Ohio
  • ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • knowledgeable of occupational therapy procedures
  • leadership and supervisory ability
  • willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
  • ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the occupational therapy service
  • ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
  • minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 45 pounds lifting, periodically and or as needed
