Job Summary
Plan, develop, and direct occupational therapy activities for residents by evaluating daily living skills, selecting appropriate exercises, and administering treatments in accordance with the Plan of Care. Facilitate telehealth services to ensure evaluations, progress notes, and discharges are completed timely while maintaining accurate documentation and billing. Assist the Occupational Therapist in interviewing residents, designing adaptive equipment, and instructing families on home programs. Participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and resident assessments as needed. This role requires a current, unencumbered Ohio COTA license and the ability to make independent decisions. The position is part-time, PRN, and involves lifting residents up to 45 pounds. Clasp provides student loan repayment assistance, and the team offers mentorship and continued education opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited program conferring the title of Occupational Therapist Assistant
- current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in Ohio
- ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- knowledgeable of occupational therapy procedures
- leadership and supervisory ability
- willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
- ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the occupational therapy service
- ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
- ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 45 pounds lifting, periodically and or as needed
