Job Summary

Conduct daily occupational therapy services for residents by administering treatment, selecting activities based on medical history, and instructing residents on adaptive equipment. Assist the Occupational Therapist in planning, evaluating, and directing care while maintaining accurate documentation, billing, and progress notes per the Plan of Care. Facilitate telehealth evaluations and participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and resident assessments. Adhere to safety protocols, infection control, and universal precautions while transporting residents and managing therapy equipment. Work in office, therapy, and resident rooms with intermittent movement and lifting capabilities up to 45 pounds. Requires an active Ohio COTA license and Associate degree.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited program conferring the title of Occupational Therapist Assistant
  • current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in Ohio
  • ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • knowledgeable of occupational therapy procedures
  • leadership and supervisory ability
  • willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
  • ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the occupational therapy service
  • ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
  • minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 45 pounds lifting, periodically and or as needed
