Job Summary
Conduct departmental evaluations, write instructional objectives, and maintain records for assigned scholars under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist. Provide 1:1 single scholar support, organize job skills for classrooms, and modify instructional materials while instructing teachers and paraprofessionals. Write clinic reports, attend team meetings, and interact with co-workers, administration, scholars, and parents in a supportive manner. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district laws while maintaining a clean work environment. Work within the Special Education Department of Grand Rapids Public Schools to ensure scholars are educated, self-directed, and productive members of society.
Required Qualifications
- completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education (60 Credits)
- obtained an associate's or higher degree
- achieved a passing score on an MDE approved assessment
- COTA certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Licensed as a COTA by the State of Michigan
- Regular on time and in person attendance
