Job Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed OT to deliver therapeutic interventions for students outlined in IEPs/504 plans. Direct therapy to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and activities of daily living; collaborate with special education staff and parents; monitor and document progress; participate in IEP team discussions; adapt learning materials and classroom environments; provide ESY services as needed; and uphold FERPA confidentiality with ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with students in diverse environments
- Maintain confidentiality per FERPA and district policies
