Job Summary

Conduct occupational therapy services for residents by administering treatments, selecting activities based on medical history, and instructing them on adaptive equipment use. Assist the Occupational Therapist in planning, evaluating, and directing therapy activities while maintaining accurate documentation, billing, and progress notes per the Plan of Care. Facilitate telehealth services, participate in care conferences and discharge planning, and ensure infection control and safety standards are followed during resident interactions. Report concerns to the Director of Rehabilitation or supervising Occupational Therapist and adhere to all facility policies regarding resident rights and HIPAA compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited program conferring the title of Occupational Therapist Assistant
  • current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in Ohio
  • ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • knowledgeable of occupational therapy procedures
  • leadership and supervisory ability
  • willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
  • ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the occupational therapy service
  • ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
  • minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 45 pounds lifting, periodically and or as needed
