Job Summary
Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed by the Occupational Therapist to help residents improve daily living activities and maximize independence. Provide occupational therapy interventions including therapeutic activities, ADL training, adaptive equipment use, and functional mobility tasks. Document residents' treatments, progress, and response to interventions in accordance with facility and regulatory standards. Communicate regularly with the supervising OT regarding residents' progress and recommend modifications to treatment plans when appropriate. Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises, adaptive strategies, and home safety techniques. Adhere to facility policies, professional standards of practice, and all state and federal regulations. Requires current COTA certification, CPR certification, and graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current and valid certification/licensure as a COTA
- CPR certification required (or must obtain upon hire)
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
