Job Summary
Implement treatment plans via Occupational Therapist to reach short- and long-term goals for children with developmental disabilities from birth to age 18. Develop strategies for home programs and provide individualized direct treatment in Early Intervention, clinic, or both settings. Collaborate with a trans-disciplinary team including speech therapists, physical therapists, and Board Certified Behavioral Analysts to maximize performance across all areas of need. Maintain professional documentation, progress reports, and session notes within appropriate timeframes. Requires NBCOT certification, current Illinois license, and valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Successful passage of the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) COTA examination
- Has current OTA license (or is license-eligible) in Illinois
- Professional behavior
- Positive attitude
- Team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess valid driver's license
- Current proof of automobile insurance
- Must be able to successfully pass criminal background check
- Must be able to successfully pass DCFS background check
- Must be able to successfully pass safe driving background check
- Must be able to successfully pass TB test
- Must be able to successfully pass drug screen
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred knowledge of autism spectrum disorder
- Preferred knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis
- Preferred knowledge of sensory and behavioral strategies and principles
