Job Summary
Assist patients and residents with therapy activities and exercises to improve their ability to perform daily activities under occupational therapist supervision. Monitor, record, and document therapy services for clients with physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial impairments while implementing therapeutic interventions consistent with competency levels and goals. Exchange information with the occupational therapist regarding client responses and communicate targeted outcomes to ensure adherence to clinical practice guidelines. Perform other related duties as requested, with work potentially focusing on post-acute, long-term care, or home health environments.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
- Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice
- Must also be certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Valid driver's license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
- An accepted offer will require a drug screen
- An accepted offer will require a pre-employment background screening
Desired Qualifications
- Must also be certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) (when working at a Sanford Health Facility)
