Job Summary
Assist patients and residents with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in treatment plans under occupational therapist supervision to improve quality of life and daily living abilities. Monitor and record therapy services for individuals with physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial impairments while selecting and modifying interventions consistent with competency levels and state licensure requirements. Exchange information with and provide documentation to the occupational therapist regarding client responses and communications during interventions, ensuring adherence to accepted clinical practice guidelines. Perform other related duties as requested, with work potentially focusing on post-acute, long-term care, or home health care environments depending on facility needs.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
- Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice
- Must also be certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Valid driver's license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
- An accepted offer will require a drug screen
- An accepted offer will require a pre-employment background screening
Desired Qualifications
- Must also be certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
