Job Summary
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for acute therapy; delivers patient-centered, occupation-based interventions under supervision, adjusts treatment based on patient response, documents communications and progress, collaborates with patients, families, and the OT team, educates patients and caregivers, and supports quality of service delivery. Requires an Associate's Degree, an active Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (IDFPR) license in Illinois, and BLS within 30 days; minimum 1+ year of experience in occupational therapy with focus on acute stroke patients; participates in annual education and adheres to regulatory/organizational standards; works across departments to support discharge planning and patient outcomes. Carle Health system and affiliated facilities in central Illinois.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- 1+ years experience
- Follows the therapist's plan of care
- OT/OTA licensure in Illinois
- Continuing education regarding care of acute stroke patients
