Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Implement occupational therapy services as prescribed in patient care plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Perform delegated procedures, educate patients and families, and document service-related records timely. Report observations of patient performance and responses to services to the supervising OT every two weeks or sooner as indicated. Modify treatment procedures in accordance with the plan of care and COTA practice standards. Maintain coordinated communication with team members and participate in interdisciplinary meetings, QA reviews, and special projects as assigned. Ensure an OT is present during initial visits and revisits every sixth visit or thirty days. Comply with established agency policies and standards while assuming responsibility for continued professional growth.
