Job Summary

Provide individual and group occupational therapy services to adults with autism and developmental disabilities, focusing on building independence, adaptive skills, and vocational abilities. Conduct assessments, document findings, and implement individualized treatment plans while adjusting therapeutic approaches based on evidence-based practices. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and support staff to coordinate services, participate in treatment planning, and guide training on sensory supports and functional skill development. Maintain accurate documentation, monitor treatment data for decision-making, and ensure compliance with agency policies and emergency evacuation procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program recognized by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
  • Valid New York State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
  • Qualifications in the agency's crisis intervention procedures
  • Capability to assist individuals in the orderly evacuation of facilities during emergencies
  • Ability to complete agency-required orientation and training
  • Ability to fulfill all mandated reporting requirements
  • Ability to ensure compliance with agency policies
  • Ability to adhere to organizational protocols
