Job Summary
Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) implements established treatment programs to maximize patient function while supervising students and support staff. Responsibilities include documenting patient changes, educating patients and caregivers on treatment plans, maintaining a caseload according to unit guidelines, and participating in departmental activities. The position requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited COTA Program
- NBCOT certified
- current license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or eligible for licensure
Desired Qualifications
- 6-12 months experience in a patient care role desired
- Hospital approved de-escalation training acquired after hire
