Job Summary
Provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, administering sensor-motor integration techniques and visual perceptual-motor remediation programs. Design and fabricate adaptive equipment, splints, and slings to meet patient needs while instructing residents in self-care skills for meal preparation, dressing, and home management. Maintain accurate patient records, participate in home assessments, and lead individualized therapy programs to improve strength, range of motion, and fine-motor coordination. Comply with infection control protocols, resident rights policies, and HIPAA regulations while working flexible full, part-time, or PRN shifts in a skilled nursing community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy
- Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables
- Demonstrates the ability to listen actively and evaluate social situations in an objective, consistent and fair manner
- Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook
- Complies with community policies and procedures for workplace safety including infection control procedures, emergency response and safety protocol
- Complies with all company policies and procedures related to resident rights; abuse prevention and reporting; and resident confidentiality (HIPPA)
