Job Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, help patients reach maximum performance level, and use skills learned to function in daily living within the limits of their capabilities. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA administers and writes evaluations, designs and administers treatment programs to increase functioning, uses therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, range of motion, and fine-motor coordination, and trains patients in the use of adaptive equipment and techniques for daily tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining patient records, participating in home assessments, designing and fabricating splints or adaptive devices as prescribed, providing prevention therapy, and collaborating with the care team to support resident rights and safety. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and current AOTA registration; one year of experience is preferred.
