Job Summary
Provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, helping them reach maximum performance levels within their capabilities. Administer and write evaluations in accordance with departmental standards, maintain accurate patient records, and design individualized therapy programs using therapeutic exercises to improve strength, range of motion, and fine-motor coordination. Instruct patients and families in adaptive techniques for self-care, splint fabrication, and energy conservation, while participating in home assessments and patient support groups. Comply with community policies for workplace safety, infection control, resident rights, and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy
- Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables
- Demonstrates the ability to listen actively and evaluate social situations in an objective, consistent and fair manner
- Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook
- Complies with community policies and procedures for workplace safety including infection control procedures, emergency response and safety protocol
- Complies with all company policies and procedures related to resident rights; abuse prevention and reporting; and resident confidentiality (HIPPA)
