Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic evaluations and treatment for assigned patients under an Occupational Therapist's supervision. Administer sensor-motor integration techniques, design individualized therapy programs, and instruct residents in adaptive equipment use for self-care and home management. Fabricate splints and adaptive devices per medical prescriptions while maintaining accurate patient records and reports. Provide environmental design consultation, assist with prosthetic device training, and lead prevocational programs to prepare patients for work re-entry. Participate in home assessments, support groups, and interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure functional independence and safety compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy
- Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables
- Demonstrates the ability to listen actively and evaluate social situations in an objective, consistent and fair manner
- Functions independently with integrity, flexibility and works well with residents, personnel and support agencies
- Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook
- Complies with community policies and procedures for workplace safety including infection control procedures, emergency response and safety protocol
- Complies with all company policies and procedures related to resident rights; abuse prevention and reporting; and resident confidentiality (HIPPA)
