Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic evaluations and administer treatment programs to assigned patients under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Design and fabricate splints and adaptive equipment, instruct patients in self-care skills, and provide therapy for neurological and traumatic brain injury conditions. Maintain accurate patient records, participate in home assessments, and deliver prevocational programs to prepare residents for work settings. Comply with community policies regarding safety, infection control, and resident confidentiality while functioning independently to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy
- Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables
- Demonstrates the ability to listen actively and evaluate social situations in an objective, consistent and fair manner
- Functions independently with integrity, flexibility and works well with residents, personnel and support agencies
- Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook
- Complies with community policies and procedures for workplace safety including infection control procedures, emergency response and safety protocol
- Complies with all company policies and procedures related to resident rights; abuse prevention and reporting; and resident confidentiality (HIPPA)
Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience preferred
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to use tools used to make adaptive equipment
