Job Summary
Under supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) helps residents develop, recover, and maintain ADLs and functional skills through individualized therapy programs. Provides therapeutic interventions, documents progress in the EMR, collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team, supervises LPNs and CNAs, ensures infection control and safety, and supports resident independence in daily activities. On-site role in Holton Manor’s skilled nursing and long-term care setting with flexible scheduling options (Full-time, Part-time, or Casual).
Required Qualifications
- Carry out individualized occupational therapy treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist
- Assist residents in improving mobility, strength, coordination, self-care skills, and independence with daily activities
- Observe, monitor, and document resident progress and responses to treatment
- Communicate changes in resident condition or functional status to the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate and timely therapy documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal guidelines
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapy programs and safety techniques
- Ensure therapy equipment and treatment areas are clean, safe, and organized
