Job Summary
Assist Occupational Therapists in providing rehabilitative services to patients under their care by helping individuals with exercises and activities to improve strength, balance, and mobility. Observe and document patient progress to report to the Occupational Therapist, while instructing patients and family members on proper techniques for exercises and equipment use. Communicate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and maintain clean, organized treatment areas in adherence to all healthcare and safety standards. Participate in regular training and educational opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- State licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of physical therapy techniques, principles, and practices
- Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift and move equipment and assist patients with physical activities
- Active license to treat in Occupational Therapy
