Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Job Summary
Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering treatment plans to help residents regain independence in activities of daily living (ADLs); carry out therapeutic activities to improve residents’ strength, coordination, mobility, cognition, and self-care; monitor and document resident progress through accurate notes and reports; communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team members; support in training residents and families on techniques and use of adaptive equipment; follow established treatment protocols and safety guidelines under the direction of the Occupational Therapist; participate in care team meetings to ensure a holistic, resident-centered approach; ensure compliance with state and federal regulations including HIPAA and Residents’ Rights; perform other duties as directed by the Occupational Therapist or Director of Rehabilitation
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current COTA certification and state license in good standing
- Experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus, but not required
- Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, reliable, and committed to quality care and teamwork
