Job Summary
Provide direct occupational therapy services to patients, including treatment training, equipment recommendations, ADL evaluations, and discharge planning under the direct supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. Deliver evidence-based care while demonstrating sound clinical reasoning to maximize safe outcomes. Complete accurate and timely documentation of clinical interventions, charges, and prescriptions following Medstar NRH policies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams through conferences and family meetings to ensure optimal patient care. Serve as a clinical resource and preceptor for new staff and students, participating in staff development and program improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- OTA - Occupational Therapist Assistant Maryland District of Columbia (DC) and/or Virginia licensure
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years clinical experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
