Job Summary
Implement the plan of care as established by the OTR/L and physician for residents in an outpatient setting. Screen residents quarterly to identify declines in functional abilities and determine if OT intervention is indicated. Carry out treatment programs in collaboration with the Registered Occupational Therapist; modify treatment plans as needed; monitor and report resident progress; assist in re-assessment and discharge planning. Supervise Rehab Therapy Aides; educate staff, families, and caregivers; identify needs for program development and equipment; ensure documentation per guidelines; coordinate in-services; participate in meetings; promote the profession within the facility; pursue ongoing continuing education; maintain professional conduct. Requires an associate degree in OT, active state license, knowledge of ethics and supervision, and ability to maintain comprehensive documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Active state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Knowledge of AOTA code of ethics and role delineation; ability to supervise OT Aides
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Competence in accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
