Job Summary
The COTA provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients under the supervision of a licensed OT, following physician referrals and Life Care standards. Responsibilities include following OT treatment plans, timely charting, using therapy software, delivering excellent patient service, assisting in patient evacuation, maintaining regular attendance, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team while upholding patient rights, safety, confidentiality, and compliance with policies. Requires NBCOT certification on hire, active state license, CPR certification, and proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel; new grads are encouraged to apply and opportunities for career advancement and leadership exist.
Required Qualifications
- NBCOT certification upon hire
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (ASOT)
- Current active state license in good standing
- CPR certification upon hire or during orientation
- 1 year experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Liaise with patients, families, and departments to plan patient needs
- Follow and implement department policies and procedures
- Demonstrate good body mechanics and safe patient handling
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and facility information
