Job Summary
Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist in post-acute care settings within Life Care Centers of America facilities (Skilled Nursing Facilities and post-acute rehab). Requires NBCOT certification upon hire and active state license; graduates of accredited OT programs (ASOT) are eligible to practice; CPR certification required. Responsibilities include following occupational treatment plans, charting, utilizing therapy software, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to address patient needs, with an emphasis on patient rights, safety, and confidentiality. Must maintain licensure in good standing, demonstrate professional behavior, effective communication with patients and families, and support care planning and program implementation. 1 year of post-acute care experience preferred; proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel and email; able to participate in community health activities and uphold Life Care’s standards and code of conduct.
Required Qualifications
- NBCOT certified upon hire
- Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (ASOT)
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable State
- One (1) year experience preferred
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation
