Job Summary
Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team in Kingston, NY or Poughkeepsie, NY. Provide occupation-based therapy under supervision, implement prescribed interventions, support patient care, and maintain patient confidentiality. Collaborate with medical staff, demonstrate professional demeanor, and utilize knowledge of therapy principles, equipment, and safety to promote patient outcomes. Full-time role with per-diem shifts and a $32-$43/hour compensation range; benefits include PTO, health/dental/vision options, 401k match, and a $3,000 sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of the academic requirements of an educational program for the occupational therapy assistant recognized by the Board of Occupational Therapy Practice and accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education or successor
- Current Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license by the State is REQUIRED
- Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the state of Florida
- Prior experience in Occupational Therapy preferred
- Member of state and national American Occupational Therapy Association preferred
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and to obtain their cooperation in the treatment prescribed
- Knowledge of Medicare and third party reimbursement preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed (or eligible) as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the applicable state
- Experience in Occupational Therapy preferred
- Member of state and national American Occupational Therapy Association preferred
- Thorough knowledge of occupational therapy principles, methods, materials and equipment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients and medical staff
